Derek Schriver, CPA

Derek Schriver, CPA, is a founding partner of Schriver, Carmona & Company and has more than thirteen years of public accounting experience. Derek’s experience includes consulting with business owners on operational efficiencies, developing and executing tax planning strategies to minimize federal income tax, representing taxpayers before federal and state taxing agencies, and researching complex tax laws to ensure compliance with federal and state reporting requirements.

Derek received his Bachelor and Master Degrees in Accounting from the University of Texas in San Antonio in 2005 and 2007 respectively, and subsequently obtained his CPA certification in 2009. Derek is an active board member for The Accounting Advisory Board UTSA, and also volunteers his time as a mentor for students enrolled at UTSA majoring in accounting.

When he’s not working with clients, Derek enjoys playing slow pitch softball and spending quality time with his wife Virginia, and their 3 young children (Noah, Nico & Gianna).

Christopher M. Carmona, CPA

Chris Carmona, CPA, is a founding partner of Schriver, Carmona & Company and has more than seventeen years of public accounting experience. His experience includes leading and supervising the audits of nonprofit entities, including nonprofits requiring single audits as specified in the Uniform Guidance, governmental entities, employee benefit plans, and commercial entities.

Chris received his BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Texas Society of CPAs. He currently serves on the board of Eva’s Heroes, on the regional board of KIPP Texas, on the school advisory council of St. Matthew’s Catholic School, on the board and business influencers group of The Nonprofit Council, and is a board member of C12: Leon Springs CEO Advisory Board. Chris has chaired the finance council of his parish, St. Matthew Catholic Church. At St. Matthew, he has also chaired the Annual Archbishop’s Appeal and served as the Parish Chair of the Archdiocesan Capital Campaign.

Chris is married to Ana, and they have been blessed with three children: Sophia, Daniel and Michael.
