Derek Schriver, CPA

Derek Schriver, CPA, is a founding partner of Schriver, Carmona & Company and has more than thirteen years of public accounting experience. Derek’s experience includes consulting with business owners on operational efficiencies, developing and executing tax planning strategies to minimize federal income tax, representing taxpayers before federal and state taxing agencies, and researching complex tax laws to ensure compliance with federal and state reporting requirements.

Derek received his Bachelor and Master Degrees in Accounting from the University of Texas in San Antonio in 2005 and 2007 respectively, and subsequently obtained his CPA certification in 2009. Derek is an active board member for The Accounting Advisory Board UTSA, and also volunteers his time as a mentor for students enrolled at UTSA majoring in accounting.

When he’s not working with clients, Derek enjoys playing slow pitch softball and spending quality time with his wife Virginia, and their 3 young children (Noah, Nico & Gianna).

Christopher M. Carmona, CPA

Chris Carmona, CPA, is a founding partner of Schriver, Carmona & Company and has more than seventeen years of public accounting experience. His experience includes leading and supervising the audits of nonprofit entities, including nonprofits requiring single audits as specified in the Uniform Guidance, governmental entities, employee benefit plans, and commercial entities.

Chris received his BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Texas Society of CPAs. He currently serves on the board of Eva’s Heroes, on the regional board of KIPP Texas, on the school advisory council of St. Matthew’s Catholic School, on the board and business influencers group of The Nonprofit Council, and is a board member of C12: Leon Springs CEO Advisory Board. Chris has chaired the finance council of his parish, St. Matthew Catholic Church. At St. Matthew, he has also chaired the Annual Archbishop’s Appeal and served as the Parish Chair of the Archdiocesan Capital Campaign.

Chris is married to Ana, and they have been blessed with three children: Sophia, Daniel and Michael.

Jackie

Jackie began her accounting career in 2006 and joined SC&C in 2021. She grew up in Southern California and moved to San Antonio in 2012. She is an Enrolled Agent specializing in tax matters. In her spare time, Jackie enjoys participating in painting parties with family and friends.

Gabriel

Gabriel Charles began his accounting career in 2016 and joined SC&C in 2017. Gabriel is native San Antonian and earned his Bachelors and Masters in Professional Accounting from Texas A&M San Antonio. Gabriel is an Enrolled Agent and a CPA candidate, as well as a Quickbooks ProAdvisor and is a member of the AICPA. When Gabriel is not working, he enjoys playing music, specifically, the guitar.

Berenice

Berenice joined SC&C in 2018. She is a native of Eagle Pass, Texas and moved to San Antonio in 2004. In Berenice’s spare time, she loves spending time in her home garden growing fruits and vegetables. Berenice’s favorite plant is the sansevieria’s (snake plant).

Kate

Kate began her accounting career in 1994 and joined SC&C in 2022. She’s a military brat who has called San Antonio home since 1986. When Kate is not working on tax returns, she enjoys archery, traveling, exercising, reading, and enjoying time with her husband Martin and their grown children.

Selena

Selena Jones, CPA joined SC&C in 2022 as Senior Audit Manager. She is an Air Force brat and has moved around, but considers San Antonio home. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting at Wayland University and is a member of Texas Society of Certified Public Accounts. When she isn’t spending time with her grandchildren, she loves traveling with a camera in her hand.

Richard

Richard Martinez began his accounting career in 2010 and joined SC&C in 2012. Richard is a native San Antonian and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting from the University or the Incarnate Word. Richard is a passionate reader and active in volunteering with local non-profit organizations.

Justin

Justin began his accounting career and joined SC&C in 2014. Justin is from Phoenix and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting with honors from The University Texas at San Antonio. Justin is a CPA candidate and is a member of Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Justin enjoys getting outdoors and playing a round of golf with family and friends.

Jordin

Jordin Galbraith began her accounting career in 2018 and joined SC&C in 2020. Jordin is a native San Antonian and earned her Master of Accountancy and Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Baylor University. Jordin is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Jordin enjoys doing different workouts in her spare time as a way to take care of her physical and mental health.

Dayna

Dayna began her accounting career and joined SC&C in 2021. Dayna is a native San Antonian and earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting with from Texas A&M-San Antonio.

Dayna enjoys getting outdoors, taking photos and spending time with family and friends.

Brianna

Brianna began her accounting career and joined SC&C in 2022. Brianna is from Corpus Christi and earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M San Antonio.

Brianna enjoys running outdoors and spending time with family and friends in her spare time.

Anthony

Anthony Cerda began his accounting career in 2008 and joined SC&C in 2018. Anthony is a native San Antonian and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Anthony is a CPA candidate and is a member of Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Anthony enjoys being outdoors, cooking BBQ and fishing at a local lake with friends and family.

Sandra

Sandra Bliss began her accounting career in the ‘90’s and joined SC&C in 2022. Sandra is a military brat who grew up all over the country but spent most of her high school years in the San Antonio area. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting from Western New England College while living in Massachusetts.

Sandra takes her time off seriously and is often found traveling around the world. When she is home she enjoys walking with friends on the weekends with the American Volkssport Association (AVA), doing yoga, exploring Fredericksburg wineries, reading, and most of all hanging out with her adult children (sons Justin & Cody, “daughter by choice” Skylar).

Dee

I started in accounting in the 1990’s. I’m an “imported Texan” as I grew up as an Air Force dependent in Germany and then San Antonio. I have 2 sons, one currently serving in the Air Force and the other completing his master’s in psychology. I’m an avid walker and member of America’s Walking Club, a non-competitive organization committed to fun, fitness, and friendship.

Veronica

Veronica Rodriguez has been with SC&C since the inception of the firm, and prior to that, was with the former CPA firm for 10 years. Veronica was born and raised in San Antonio, and graduated high school from Thomas Jefferson. While Veronica is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and pets, and showing/selling her fashion jewelry to friends.
